Cultural History

The cultural history of the Black Caucus begins with its founding in 1968 and as a staff-based group we work on collective organizing and activism towards racial justice for staff, students, and faculty at UCSF. In 2018, during our 50th Anniversary Commemoration Gala (1968-2018) we celebrated our organizational founders and highlighted our rich history through an oral history documentary video series of their experiences and actions in the caucus. We also created interactive historical timelines and brainstormed new project ideas to echo the past achievements of our founders and legendary members.
